Color, emotion, and material choices shaping floral packaging for the year ahead
As the floral industry looks toward 2026, flower bouquet wrapping paper continues to evolve alongside broader design, color, and material trends. Wrapping is no longer just a functional layer around flowers; it frames the bouquet, sets expectations, and communicates mood before a single stem is uncovered.
In the coming year, trends point toward expressive but calming color palettes, clear visual storytelling, and packaging materials designed to work smoothly within established recycling systems. Design forecasts for 2026 highlight colors inspired by nature and everyday calm. As Ritva Borg, designer behind the Carccu® flower paper collections, explains:
“Each year, the Pantone Color Institute announces a color that appears in interior design, fashion shows, and media. These color choices offer guidance and motivation, creating a mood for the year ahead. Based on these ideas, we have created our new spring collection.”
Those annual color signals provide a practical reference point for designers and brands, as they interpret broader trends for the coming year. In 2026, soft pinks, matcha greens, and blue-green tones such as “Transformative Teal”—designated Color of the Year 2026 by WGSN—appear alongside practical neutrals like beige and gray. Nostalgic retro palettes and subtle shimmering accents add contrast and energy, while the overall visual language favors clarity over excess.
In floristry, these color movements translate into wrapping papers that support loose, organic arrangements. Meadow-inspired bouquets, visible greenery, grasses, and unexpected textures continue to shape how flowers are tied and presented. Rather than strict seasonal divisions, many designs are intended to work across multiple moments—from everyday gifting to larger celebrations—by balancing expressive color with restrained patterning.
Nature-Inspired Palettes Define Carccu® Flower Bouquet Wrapping Paper Designs for 2026
Rather than presenting a single look, the 2026 Carccu® collection brings together multiple expressions of the year’s key themes. The four designs, in particular, illustrate how color, pattern, and base material interact, two produced on regular paper and two on kraft paper, each offering a different way to frame floral arrangements.
According to Borg, the 2026 designs emphasize balance, wild romance, and structured elegance, a balance between bold colors and soft pastel tones, as well as between a sense of luxury and sustainability.
Green Nature embraces warm eucalyptus green, one of the defining tones for 2026. The color feels grounded and calm while remaining refined. Botanical elements and layered greenery echo the continued popularity of meadow-style bouquets and loose, natural compositions.
As Borg describes the approach behind the design:
“This color is a response to the present moment—simple and earthy, yet elegant. It connects us to nature while remaining refined.”

Påsklilja (Daffodil) introduces yellow-green tones associated with optimism and early spring energy. The design evokes fresh air, the first light green shoots of the season, and the anticipation of blooming daffodil fields. The pattern brings movement and brightness to bouquets, making it particularly suited to spring occasions and everyday floral gifting.

For florists drawn to softer nostalgia, Lupine reflects a return to country romance. Pastel pinks and violets, layered with green tones, create a gentle visual rhythm that pairs naturally with smaller blooms and garden-picked arrangements.
Borg explains the intention behind the design:
“With this design, we wanted to bring back that sense of romance and abundance—like flowers picked from a blooming meadow.”

Noviflora highlights delicacy and restraint, pale hues and subtle contrasts. Inspired by the symbolic associations of the anemone—often linked to anticipation and calm—the design suits refined bouquets and minimal compositions, where wrapping supports rather than dominates the presentation.
“Here we wanted to highlight the beauty of the flowers and their delicate, light color tones,” Borg explains.

In addition to Green Nature, Påsklilja, Lupine and Noviflora, Carccu will introduce a selection of Christmas-themed flower bouquet wrapping paper designs later in the year as a separate seasonal release.
From Trend-Led Designs to Custom-Printed Flower Bouquet Wrapping Paper
In addition to its ready-made flower bouquet wrapping paper designs, Carccu® offers the option of custom-printed floral wrapping, allowing businesses to tailor packaging to their own visual identity. Well-designed flower wrapping paper does more than protect bouquets during handling and transport—it also functions as a visible brand touchpoint at the moment of gifting.
Through custom printing, florists can incorporate logos, brand colors, or short messages directly onto the wrapping paper, using a single paper-based material for the entire package. This approach supports consistent brand recognition without the need for separate labels, stickers, or plastic sleeves. High-quality printing ensures that details remain sharp and colors clear, whether the style is understated and minimal or more decorative and expressive.
Custom-printed flower bouquet wrapping paper allows florists to align packaging with their shop’s brand, creating a coherent customer experience from storefront to finished bouquet. In a competitive market, this subtle but repeatable branding element helps businesses stand out while keeping packaging practical and familiar for end users.
Appealing Flower Bouquet Wrapping Paper with Focus on Recyclability and Backed by Certifications
Alongside design and color, material choices play an increasingly visible role in flower bouquet wrapping paper. Industry discussions at events such as IFTF and Royal FloraHolland emphasize packaging that is easy for consumers to sort and recycle. Using a single material wherever possible helps simplify disposal and reduces uncertainty about recycling when the packaging is no longer needed.
From a design perspective, material performance and recyclability must work together. Papers are developed to tolerate moisture from fresh flowers while remaining suitable for established recycling streams. As Ritva Borg notes:
“We design our paper to withstand moisture as much as possible while still being easy to recycle.”
Carccu® has been granted PEFC Chain of Custody (CoC) and FSC® Chain of Custody (CoC) certifications, and its production operates in accordance with ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 management systems.Material choices are also influenced by European packaging regulations, such as the EU’s new Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation, with flower wrapping paper designed to comply with these requirements.
When color forecasts, material requirements, and practical use come together in well-considered designs, flower wrapping paper becomes more than a protective layer. It turns into part of the message itself—shaping how a bouquet is perceived and reinforcing the meaning behind the gift. The paper helps frame the moment in which flowers are given, linking visual impression, touch, and context into a single experience.
Ritva Borg compares the role of flower wrapping paper to the way flowers themselves are received by the person holding them:
“Color plays a powerful role in our emotions and in the messages we want to convey.”
