Case: Kirami
Carccu® developed a custom printed kraft paper sheet solution for Kirami, the world’s largest hot tub manufacturer, to protect products from shipping damage caused by mid-transit loading and forklift spikes. A thicker kraft paper was chosen for its exceptional toughness and rigidity, capable of withstanding harsh handling—proven in testing where the wrapped tubs held up even after repeated blows with wooden sticks. The paper also shields products from UV exposure and is more breathable than plastic, helping to prevent moisture issues during storage and transport. To support Kirami’s brand visibility, the paper was successfully flexographically printed with the company’s logo—designed and applied specifically for large-format packaging. Carccu® also supplied a roll stand to the factory, enabling efficient tearing and wrapping on the production line.
“At the time, our aim with the new packaging was not only to protect the product, but also to brand it. The packaging is no longer an unidentifiable plastic wrap, and actually strengthens our brand profile,” enthuses Eero Rantanen, Chief Information and Financial Officer at Kirami.
Case: Wollreich Haslital
Carccu® provided custom printed kraft wrapping paper to support the packaging needs of WollReich Haslital, a Swiss family business specializing in sheep farming and known particularly for its certified wool used in pillows and duvets. The flexographically printed kraft paper was developed in collaboration with the client and features their sheep logo, aligning the packaging with the company’s visual identity. A lighter paper grade was chosen to suit the packaging of wool-based products.

Certified Materials and Environmentally Sound Production
Carccu® uses high-quality water-based inks that comply with the Swiss Ordinance and flexographic printing processes designed for efficient, lower-impact production. Waste inks are mixed into black pigment used for printing kraft paper, and the drying process minimizes residual side streams. Our broader environmental practices include the use of fossil-free electricity, sorting and reusing production side streams, and selecting materials with low environmental impact. Carccu® is certified under the ISO 9001 Quality Management System and the ISO 14001 Environmental Management System and holds both FSC® Chain of Custody certification and PEFC Chain of Custody certification, ensuring traceable wood-based materials from responsibly managed forests and separation of certified materials throughout the production chain.
